Essence

A house made by hand

The family raised this house stone by stone, in Saldes, always looking towards the Pedraforca. Today we open its doors so that others find the same shelter.

The stone

Walls that have watched generations pass and keep the cool in summer and the warmth in winter.

The hearth

The fire at the heart of the house, where meals stretch on without hurry.

The wood

Beams and floors that keep the warmth of an older craft.

There are places you do not visit: you inhabit them. The Pedraforca presides over every morning, the forest sets the pace and the silence stays with you long after you leave.

The Pedraforca, one of the most iconic peaks of the Pyrenees, presides over the horizon from the terrace.

All around, the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park opens forests, rivers and paths in every direction. Saldes is the starting point towards the mountains and the silence.
